Through the Eyes of a Magician
Peter Turner will demonstrate the art of illusion. Prepare to be amazed! Competition - a pack of playing cards... one you've picked up on your travels, or maybe an old pack or one with an unusual design. We will also be discussing the 8 proposed resolutions for 2016 |
February 8th

Lancashire Entertainment
Musical entertainment from folk duo Sue Bousefield and Ian Gartside. Some audience participation is anticipated! The theme of tonight's competition table is "Something from Lancashire". |
March 14th

Barton Grange - "Creating Our Dream"
Guy Topping will tell us about the development of the Garden Centre at Garstang. Bring something floral for the competition table tonight. Maybe a scarf, a brooch, a picture or an ornament - anything flower-related will be fine. |
April 11th

Book folding - creating Art from unloved books.
Linzi Cason will show us how to upcycle a book. Please bring along a hard backed book - she will show you how to transform it into something you'll be proud to display! The competition tonight is for an interesting old book... perhaps one from your childhood, or a family heirloom. |
May 9th

Resolution Evening
The two resolutions to be considered are "Avoid food waste, address food poverty" and "Appropriate care in hospitals for people with dementia". Entertainment after the serious business will be Call My Bluff and a Quiz. Bring a useless kitchen gadget for the competition table. |

Tagging the Treasures
The project to research and catalogue the Lytham St Annes Art Collection has been a massive undertaking by many volunteers in our town. Jacqueline Arundel, the Tagging the Treasures Project Manager, will join us tonight to tell us what has been involved. Competition Table - please bring a wedding photo... yours?... your parents?... a distant relative from your family album?... or even a celebrity! |

The Staff of Life
Speaker: David Tomlinson, retired Technical Director of Warburtons bakery "Something I have made" will be the theme of tonight's competition. Here's a chance to show off our skills - knitting, sewing, baking, painting, jewellery... the possibilities are endless. |

An Adventure on Wheels
Yvonne Pinder will tell us about the amazing year she spent travelling around the USA in a motor home. Tonight's competition is a little different - we're asking you to wear something American! |
September 12th

Mercy Ships
Speaker Frances King will tell us about this international charity, which provides hospital ships primarily along the West African coast. Competition:- Something old or interesting. |
October 10th

AFWI Birthday Celebrations
Our eleventh birthday celebrations will include a Belly Dancing Demonstration Bring a holiday souvenir or postcard for the competition table. |
